March 23, 2020
1. Get involved with the global Rainbows in Windows movement and spread positive vibes across your local community: see here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51953553
2. Use social media to connect with family and friends:
you could use Whatsapp, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, House Party, Facebook, and I'm sure plenty of others that I am not aware of yet! You can then do remote activities together like this: https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/coronavirus-i-want-to-break-free-queen-video-call-quarantine-dublin-a9417216.html
3. Go outdoors: you never know when things might change on this but as long as you are 2 metres apart and socially distancing yourself from others, you can do things outdoors as a household
4. Play old school board games: now is an opportunity to educate your kids about classic board games like Monopoly, Articulate, Cranium, Linkee, Scrabble, Risk, Battleships, Chess, Cards etc etc... the list is endless, and it is great for family bonding
5. Cooking and Baking:
a great way to develop those culinary skills in your little Masterchefs in the making. Try here: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/kids-cooking
6. Movie night with popcorn: you may not be able to go to the cinema but thankfully we are blessed with a great selection of streaming services at our finger tips so you can recreate it at home. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Britbox, Apple TV, Disney+, iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My 5, YouTube, Sky.... there are too many to name
7. Educational activities: BBC Teach has all you need in one place https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach

it's always good for the mental health to start to focus on the positives when we are in stressful times, and research shows that journaling is a healthy coping mechanism for stress
10. Plan things to do when the country gets back to normal again
- reflect on your goals as a family, write them down, create a strategy on how you might get there, commit and think positively
